On 29th July, while Indian Prime Minister was inaugurating “Cross –Country Marathon” in New Delhi and was asking all Indians to support Indian sports participants for Rio Olympics in “Man-ki-Baat”, similarly school had a registered cross country activity in Almanac for Kipsians that day. It was flagged off at 6:00 am from school ground and after a long route it ended in school ground itself at 9:00 am. The results were as under:

Cricket Academy in Kasauli International Public School, Sanwara

The HPCA will start specialized under-11 -16 year’s cricket academy in Kasauli International Public School, Sanwara. The academy will be affiliated with BCCI. Academy is a cricket facility of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for training young cricketers who are identified as having the potential to represent the Indian cricket team. The academy will focus on all departments of cricket. The academy will function throughout the year. According to informed sources, the legendary names of Himachal Pradesh in Cricket have been short-listed to hone the skills of young cricketers at the academy. The lack of depth in the country’s cricketers stock is an area of concern for Indian cricket.
The idea behind setting up the academy is to take some load off the National Cricket Academy and impart training in specific areas to cricketers with promise. The sole aim of Academy is to provide quality cricket training, world-class cricketing infrastructure, an opportunity to learn from experts in the field of cricket through a fun and innovative environment. The cricket academy was founded in Kasauli International Public School Sanwara of eco-friendly campus with an emphasis to provide students with best-in-class cricket facilities and training.
This all-year-round academy integrates the best in cricket techniques, technology, and coaches to develop the World-Class Cricketers of tomorrow.
For the overall development of the young cricketer, strength improvement through other games, mini tournaments, and sessions with specialists is organized, based on the ability, age group and expertise level of the players. Academy Overview

In this era of cut-throat competition, it is of supreme importance to provide opportunities for students to meet the challenges of the future. This school lays special emphasis on co-curricular activities to provide students with an edge over others to be a leader in their respective field of activity. In pursuit of the same, the girl and boys students of the four houses of the school competed in a Basketball Match against each other on 21st April 2018. Before the matches started, the Principal gave his best wishes and a word of encouragement to the teams. It was much awaited by all the participants. The students stepped onto the court to set it ablaze with speed, endurance, magical footwork, dribble and much to the audience-excitement, a nail-biting finish. Neptune House emerged triumphant after winning the First Position and the Earth House seized the Second Position.


The school volleyball team made the participation in Bhojnagar festival tournament to celebrate Baisakhi on 13th April 2018.


It is great to see such enthusiasm and high level of energy amongst students of different age groups. Such events are a good break for students from their hectic school routine. Not only will these sports activities help them develop their personalities, but also help identify their strengths in a particular sport, thus opening up newer avenues for them. The inter-school sports competition formats designed for KIPS students as competitive challenges leading to a recognizable competition in that sport, helping pupils to learn the skills of the game. Following the practice, the school Volleyball boy’s team routed Gurukul International, Solan in their routine practice match on 17th September 2018.

Inter House Volleyball Competition

Inter House Volleyball competition was conducted in the premises of Kasauli International Public School from 19th May to 20th May 2018. All the matches were played under the Strategy of Knock -out Series. It was wonderful when both the volleyball courts were functional and the players were introduced by the worthy Managing Director, Mr. Hira Thakur and the esteemed Principal Dr. Sanjeev Mainra. Among the spectators, the marshals and the members of the different houses hooted and encouraged their players for clinching a score. The results were as under:

State Basketball Under -14 championship was held in Chamba. This tournament was held for three days in which various basketball matches were played by the 16 teams who came from the different parts of the state. This championship was organized by the Ministry of Sports of the State and State Youth Service in collaboration with the Sports Federation of Basketball (Himachal Pradesh). Our students gave a valiant show-the boys defeated the different title contenders. Students gave a tough competition to them but ultimately due to lack of experience, they lost to opponent.


Shooters of KIPS had a golden opportunity to participate in shooting competition held at Shimla on 28th June to 29th June 2018. Master Jatin and Ms. Khushi participated in it and did the marvellous performance by scoring 361 & 326. They both were selected for Pre-National XXVIII All India G.V. Malavankar Shooting Championship.


Master Jatin and Ms. Khushi participated Pre-National XXVIII All India G.V. Malvankar Shooting Championship in Chanai from 30th August to 7th September 2018. Both students made a fabulous performance in their shooting. Their show impressed everyone but they missed the ranking with a very narrow margin.


On 15th August 2018, the school volleyball team got another chance to prove their worth when they participated in the Youth Club Kanda matches. Here again both the teams –Senior and Junior volleyball teams had an active participation. The school Kabaddi team was adjudged the runners up in open category event.


CBSE Cluster XVIII Tournament was organized from September 20th to 22nd September 2018 in Shishi Niketan Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 22D Chandigarh. Our under 17 & 19 teams participated in the event. It was determined and planned preparation of the event by the students of Kasauli International Public School, Sanwara. With a relatively young lineup, they made big damages to big tycoons of the event, who have established masters of it from so many years. They got the appreciation of everyone. They smashed like the bullet and thundered like lightning upon their opponents. Each and every team was no match for them and opponents failed to understand the techniques and strategies of Kip's team. But during the fray under 17 team lost in the semi-final but was placed on third place after defeating to MR DAV Solan in straight three sets.


The school participated in Himachal Pradesh Junior Boys/ Girls Basketball Championship in Katrain (Kullu) from 29th April to 1st May 2018.


The school participated in Himachal Pradesh Youth Basketball Championship in Jogindernager from 27th July to 29th July 2018.


The school participated in District Solan Shooting Championship at Tagore Vanasthali Public School Kuthar on 22nd September 2018.


KIPS sharpshooters of the school made the participation in CBSE Zonal Shooting Championship at Karnal held from 3rd to 5th October 2018. All the school shooters made the quite impressive show and dominated in all the categories of the event. This competition for Rifle Shooting was for Panchkula Region (North Zone-II) Districts of Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Jallandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Moga and Nawan Shehar, Muktasar, Bhatinda, Mansa, Patiala, Sangrur, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Fatehabad ,Sirsa, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Ambala, Panchkula, Roopnagar & Mohali participated in it.


Himachal School Education Department conducted its Solan Block Kabaddi tournament at Kuthar from 16th to 18th August. The school team participated in it and got the second position. In district Solan tournament, we got commendable appreciation from spectators. Kabaddi is a contact team sport played between two teams of seven players, the object of the game is for a single player on offence, referred to as a "raider", to run into the opposing team's half of a court, tag out as many of their defenders as possible, and return to their own half of the court, all without being tackled by the defenders, and in a single breath. Points are scored for each player tagged by the raider, while the opposing team earns a point for stopping the raider. Players are taken out of the game if they are tagged or tackled, but can be "revived" for each point scored by their team from a tag or tackle.


Kasauli International Public School, Sanwara is designated by CBSE New Delhi for hosting CBSE Kabaddi cluster XVIII from 4th October to 7th October 2018. Similarly Kabaddi National will be organize in school campus from 10th November to 15th November 2018.
